This tour takes you to one of the three most famous bridges in Japan, Kintaikyo made of wood, surrounding castle town, and traditional Sake brewery, Murashige Shuzo established at the beginning of the Meiji period. Iwakuni-Zushi, a local specialty will be served for lunch.  Our bus attendant will accompany you throughout the tour.

Kintaikyo Bridge

This is one of the three most famous bridges of Japan and the its main structure was constructed, utilizing Japanese traditional joining techniques, called Tsugite and Shiguchi without a single nail and glue. The beautifully constructed wooden 5-arched bridge is unique in the world in terms of structure and appearance.




Ropeway

A ropeway ride will offer you stunning views of Kintaikyo Bridge, Nishiki river, Iwakuni castle town, Iwakuni city, the Setouchi Inland sea, as well as the Shikoku region when the sky is clear. 


Iwakuni Castle


Iwakuni Castle was constructed on the summit of Mount Shiroyama in 1608 by Hiroie Kikkawa, the first feudal lord of the Iwakuni Domain. It was demolished seven years after its completion because of the one castle per province policy by the Shogunate. The current castle tower was rebuilt in 1962. The castle tower displays swords, armor and other items related to the castle.


Murashige Shuzo

Murashige Shuzo is the Sake brewery which produces the Iwakuni’s local Sake “Kinkankuromatsu”, and they have many fans all around Japan. A 3-ton tree ball with 5 meters in diameter made of cedar branches, combining and trimming is called “ Reiro” in Japanese. This cedar tree ball, Reiro of the brewery is the biggest tree balls in Japan that welcomes you at the shopfront. Also, you may also enjoy trying out the Japanese sake produced at the brewery.



Iwakuni-Zushi


Iwakuni-Zushi is a popular pressed sushi served in Iwakuni. Layered like a cake, the sushi is filled with colorful ingredients such as lotus root, and shiitake mushrooms.

Important Notice regarding this route
 Due to foreseeable congestion in Iwakuni Ropeway on 9, 16 Aug & 20 Sept, the tour will not be making a visit to Iwakuni Ropeway on these dates but to Iwakuni Art Museum Instead. 
Passengers are required by the law to wear a seatbelt at all times while seated on the bus. 
Service may be delayed or suspended due to strong winds, rain, storms, or other foul weather which may hinder safe operation.
Itineraries and arrival times may change depending on weather or traffic conditions and congestion at tourist attractions.
Please come back to the designated meeting location on time. Our bus attendant will tell you the meeting time and location when you get off at the tourist attractions, and they are also written on the travel flyer you receive when boarding. You must be punctual in returning to the bus within the time allowed for the stop. The bus may depart as scheduled even you do not come back after the allotted time for the stop.

Cancellation fee

JPY 100 per person before the departure time shown on your E-ticket. 

Note: If you don't show up for a service and fail to cancel the reservation prior to scheduled departure, you are considered a no-show and all money associated with the reservation is forfeited.
