This is a three-and-a-half-hour tour with live guide in Japanese which covers every corner of beauty and attractions of Matsushima, Japan’s three scenic spots(Nihonsankei).
Matsushima is the bay area which includes approximately 260 tiny islands covered in pine trees.

Saigyo Modoshino Matsu Park

You can enjoy the panoramic views of the Matsushima Bay, Japan's three most scenic places, from the observation deck. In addition, Saigyo Modoshino Matsu Park is famous for the cherry blossom viewing where 260 cherry trees are in full bloom in spring. 


Kanrantei Tea House

It is said that Kanrantei Tea House was originally a teahouse in Hideyoshi Toyotomi's  Fushimi Momoyama Castle in Kyoto.
Then, the teahouse was given to Date Masamune, who had moved the teahouse to its current location in Matsushima.

Godaido Temple

Godaido is a small temple on the Godaido island that holds five wooden statues of the Great Wisdom Kings, managed by Zuiganji Temple. It is designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan, also known as a symbol of Matsushima. 
The hall is decorated with small carvings of the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac, four on each side. 

National Treasure, Zuiganji Temple

Zuiganji Temple is a stately building which represents the essence of the Momoyama period.
Its main hall, which is designated as a National Treasure had been under renovation from 2008 to 2016, and the it reopened to the public on April, 2016.  
You must see the gilded sliding doors and alcoves embellished with paintings of peacocks and pine trees. 
Also, there stands unique plum trees, called " Garyubai" in the garden of the main temple hall, and they are gorgeous when in full bloom in spring time.
