Zuihoden Mausoleum
Zuihoden is the ornate Momoyama-style mausoleum of Date Masamune, the founder of Sendai.  This gorgeous structure is a sight to behold with its vivid colors and intricate woodwork.
Aoba Castle Ruins
Aoba Castle ruins constructed in 1602 and served as a residence of the Date family for about 270 years. As you wander through the ruins, stone walls and Otemon Gate Corner Tower remind you of the old times.
The statue of Date Masamune on a horseback stands on where used to be the castle tower of the Sendai Castle.
National Treasure Osaki Hachimangu Shrine

Osaki Hachimangu Shrine is a National Treasure and one of the most important Shinto shrines in Sendai. The shrine is built in the typical gongenzukuri style of architecture. Lacquer and whitewash were employed both in the interior and exterior to create gorgeous decorations.
